People's Emergency Briefing tomorrow + MMMM! next Monday
Hi all,
Two things to flag this week:
π¨ Tomorrow: People's Emergency Briefing β Bridport
A quick reminder that tomorrow evening (Tuesday 7 April) there's a free screening of a brand new film from the National Emergency Briefing on the climate and nature crisis.
The 50-minute film brings together leading scientific evidence presented at the Westminster briefing in November 2025, combined with reactions from members of the public. It's designed to be frank about the threats but also to show the enormous benefits of genuine emergency action, and a pathway to a better future.
After the screening there'll be a discussion on local impacts and community-led action in West Dorset.

π₯ Next Monday: MMMM! Movie, Meal & Mingling β The Pickers
MMMM! is back on Monday 13 April, and this week's film is The Pickers (2024, 1hr 20mins, IMDb 7.6/10).
The film follows migrant workers harvesting fruit and vegetables across European fields, from oranges in Southern Italy to blueberries in Portugal and strawberries in Spain. It exposes the system of exploitation behind our cheap supermarket produce, but also shows that another way is possible.
As always, there'll be delicious (mostly organic) vegan curries from Fergus Bradbeer of Vegie Vortex, plus hot and cold drinks. Food from around 6pm, shorts from 6:30pm, and the main feature from 7pm.
π² Pre-book your food by 3pm Monday to avoid disappointment!

π‘ Remember, West Dorset Commons members get into MMMM! for free. You can also suggest and upvote future films.
